We will explore the exhibition, From Kente to Kuba: Stitched Textiles from West and Central Africa. The class will be based on Addy, the African American doll. We’ll explore Addy’s African roots and learn characteristics of African textile traditions passed down through the generations. We will observe images, colors, designs and techniques used. The students will stitch their own designs on a wall hanging inspired by those in the exhibition. Games of Addy’s time period, 1864, will be played and snacks eaten (corn muffins and dried apples).
$20 ( $16 for Members )
CANCELLATION POLICY: If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, IQSCM will refund the class fee. No cancellations, refunds or credits available for this workshop.
