The 20th Century gave rise to a large number of popular music composers, some of whom could be considered great. Learn about a variety of the songs and the composers and artists who performed the music. Many of these composers, such as Rogers and Hammerstein, wrote very popular musicals whose songs became popular as individual songs on the pop charts. Others, including Irving Berlin, wrote songs which were popularized on their own by pop singers of the day. Approximately 25 composers and their music will be featured, heard and discussed. Instructor: Rod Soukup, emeritus professor, Electrical & Computer Engineering, UNL, and OLLI member Facilitator: David Dyke
